Sala Thai, DC #2

Sala Thai has become my staple go-to restaurant for rainy days when I don't want to leave home.  Their food is consistent, their delivery is quick, and they always bring the credit card machine.

I started with a Tom Yum Veggies soup ordered medium spicy. This soup was pretty good and loaded with cauliflower, cabbage, baby corn, broccoli, snow peas, carrots, basil, and lemongrass.

For my entree, I ordered the Pad Mak Kuah J, which was a stir-fried dish of Japanese eggplant, mushrooms, and red peppers in a black bean sauce though it didn't really taste like a black bean sauce. I added tofu as well. It was great - a nice mix of veggies sauteed well with a delicious sauce. I did order it extra spicy and oh, was it spicy?! Wow - only order extra spicy if you can take Thai spicy. I almost couldn't!

All in all, it was not too bad for a carryout meal! I think Sala Thai does a great job with its sauces, has reasonable prices, and great delivery service. If you are thinking take-out, this is the place to go.
