Whole Foods 365-brand Vegan Lasagna

As I was walking through Whole Foods the other day, I found a new frozen vegan lasagna. In fact, it is made by the Whole Foods 365-brand and since the sign said, "I'm new. Try me," I figured I would.  Given that it is Whole Foods brand, I thought it would be pretty good. Well, it wasn't.

This lasagna was about as bad as it gets. There were layers of noodles, vegan ricotta cheese, and broccoli. The noodles were way too thick and the cheese had no taste whatsoever. The tomato sauce was incredibly bland as well as if they just used some generic tomato sauce.

I can't believe Whole Foods even put their brand on this product.  I would recommend buying Amy's vegan lasagna instead.

  1. I tried the Whole Foods Pad Thai, and it was similarly horrific. The Ethnic Gourmet brand is much better.

    And thanks for the warning.

  3. I did NOT like this. But i added sauce and a little coleman's mustard and it was nice.

  4. The question is - would you buy it again? I think there are much better options out there.

  5. Hi there,
I see that I am very belated in this post, but I just tried the 365 lasagna, and I wanted to respond.

I agree that it was a bit more bland than other vegan lasagnas (the best I have ever had is by V-Spot in the NYC area). But the reason why I will purchase this again is because of the nutrition panel. The thick noodles are whole wheat, and the lasagna has almost 4 times as much fiber as Amy's, about 1/3 of the sodium, half the fat, and twice the protein. The price point is almost half that of Amy's as well. To me, Frozen Lasagna is Frozen Lasagna... it's not going to be the one dish I always look forward to. For me, this is the perfect office lunch back up, for days that I need a filling lunch but just can't leave my desk.

But if you don't like it, you just don't like it! :)

  6. I just had this for dinner last night and couldn't agree more with your review -- awful. Tasteless. I will never buy this again.

  8. This review is still accurate in 2015. This lasagna istotally bland and a total waste of money.
