DC VegFest & Celebrity Brunch - Coming Next Weekend!

VegFest is coming and it's only a week away--oh, happy day! I'd like to encourage you to go to the DC VegFest organized by Compassion Over Killing and VSDC on Saturday, September 22, 2012. This year's fourth annual vegetarian festival promises to be the best ever with guest speakers like Rich Roll, vegan ulta-athlete and author of Finding Ultra, Doron Petersan, owner of Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats, and Terry Hope Romero, cookbook author and chef.

The DC VegFest highlights the many benefits of choosing vegetarian foods by offering information and samples. Attendees will enjoy free food samples from Gardein, Field Roast, The Vegg, Beyond Meat, and more. Plus, there will be over a dozen food vendors including Bread & Brew, Loving Hut, Everlasting Life Cafe, and Vegan Treats.

Oh, and let's not forget the Cupcake Eating Contest hosted by Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats! Participate or watch--either way it promises to be great fun!

And if all that wasn't enough to get you there, this will--the first 1,000 attendees will get a free 2012 DC VegFest commemorative bag loaded with veg-friendly products, coupons, and more!

How much? FREE
Where: Yards Park, 300 Water St. SE, DC
Metro: Navy Yard Metro (New Jersey Ave exit - go towards DOT) on the green line
When: Sat., Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then, on Sunday, Sept. 23 enjoy a gourmet vegan brunch while noshing with your favorite speakers at Todd Gray's Muse at the Corcoran.

This special DC VegFest Celebrity Brunch is a great opportunity to ask ultra-marathoner Rich Roll in person about his favorite post-workout snack, get cooking tips from vegan cookbook authors Doron Petersan and Terry Hope-Romero, or find out ways that you can make a bigger impact for animals from Bruce Friedrich. And we know you have health and nutrition questions for Dr. Michael Greger and Afya Ibomu. On top of the great company, you’ll enjoy an all-you-can-eat vegan brunch buffet at Muse, including a mimosa or vegan bloody mary.

And best of all, 60% of the proceeds from this benefit brunch will directly benefit the DC VegFest. You can purchase tickets here.  See more details below.

  1. Nice post on the upcoming VegFest. So looking forward to this as I am of big fan of Rich Roll and vegan confections (natch).

I'm also new to the area, so it'll be great mingling with other vegheads and sampling all that DC has to offer in the way of local veg fare!
